Dreams Come True

Dreams Come True

Look at my happy little face!

I very rarely take selfies but I was too damn happy (in a totally cheesy, I am so awesome look what I did way!) to not take a selfie in front of the gallery where my work is being exhibited.

When I wrote down a goal of being exhibited as a major aim for this year, I genuinely thought I was aiming too high. I wouldn’t describe myself as confident but this year, I told myself, is about being brave. The encouragement from my husband was invaluable as he was the one that got the conversation going but I had to be brave and share my artwork and wait for it to be ‘judged’. Lucky for me, Trevor (the gallery manager at The Aviary) has excellent taste and fell in love with my hibiscus and bee prints in particular.

I have delivered quite a few of my wildlife themed pieces and these will be showcased in the ‘It’s a Wildlife’ show in August. Some of my pieces will also be part of the following ‘NEbody’ show, which celebrates artists working in the North East of England. I’m in good company - there’s so much to see so check out the details in my events page and get yourself down there. I’d recommend grabbing a yummy treat from Cake Stories next door while you’re there.

I’d love to hear what you think of the exhibitions so feel free to comment below or tag me on social media @heatherdoesprints (Instagram) and @thepeacockandtheprintmaker (Facebook).
