Something a Little Special
Something a Little Special
Buying from the high street is great if you want something cheap and disposable, however, if you want something that much more special then independents is where you need to be. Shopping with a small business comes with that personal touch.
If you like my style but want something bespoke – great! Just get in touch.
In this month’s blog, I’ll be talking you through some of the recent commissions that I have been working on.
Queen Bea is a beautiful caravan that has been lovingly restored by Deborah. Eventually, she will be a mobile event space where you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea and a tipple. The bunting above will be part of the decoration.
The print is built up of 3 blocks so it took 3 weeks in all to print and dry but it was worth it and was a lot of fun to make. Bea is an exclusive print but if you fancy your own bunting, that can be achieved.
The inspiration for this print started when my client brought me some currency from his once in a lifetime holiday. A fan of the old town, he wanted me to capture to colour and culture of Havana and include the coins and notes as part of the piece.
The watercolour washes came from the colourful renders in his holiday photos and the black prints were developed from my research sketches. It’s off to the framers soon. I can’t wait to see it on his wall.
This was a heart-warming one – a special piece of art for a miracle baby. This little man was a long time coming and the parents wanted to celebrate his arrival with an exclusive print. Only Seth has this colour way and I love the client’s choice. The gold ink is one of my favourites at the moment.
It was a two block print so it took a while to cure but it came out really well. The finishing touch was the special message written underneath: “Seth, how far you’ll go.”
Currently, I’m working on a couple of commission projects and in talks with a local gallery about upcoming exhibitions. Summer is the perfect time for you to get in your bespoke requests. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with some of my favourite listing from my shop. Enjoy!
