Happy New Year - Here's to 2021!

Happy New Year 2021

Many of us will be glad to see the back of 2020 and will be ready to usher in the new year. As mad as 2020 was, I have had a lot of highlights. My aim for 2020 was to BE BRAVE and I certainly feel like I achieved that.

Here are the highlights of my year (from top left):

🦚Summer kicked off with 1 to 1 coaching sessions with the fabulous @thecolournest_collective who helped me achieve my 2020 aim of being brave. This is when I decided to get really serious about my art as a business. Imani is a truly amazing woman - nurturing, enlightening and all round fabulous.

🦚Joining @mintbizclub shortly after that was scary because I had all the imposter syndrome thoughts going on. I worried that I couldn't earn enough to pay for it, that I had nothing to contribute, that I was kidding myself. They taught me that that was all nonsense and that I can kick ass as an #indiebizowner. They have put me through funded courses, tailored mentoring to my needs, connected me with other minties that I have benfitted from working with and are always there to celebrate and offer an ear when you need it.

🦚Getting my work into @theaviary_art was a massive moment. It felt amazingly validating to have my artwork in a gallery - that's the dream as an artist. Trevor, the manager, has included me in a few exhibitions now and it truly feels like a proper community being part of the gallery. It showcases the best of the North East as well as some incredible artists from further afield. If you want art for your home or as a gift, Trevor will help you find the perfect thing - you can even buy the furniture! Next time you're in Jesmond, go and say hi.

🦚My first venture in getting my products into a shop was with @justcanny126. Maggie has great taste and has curated her shop to include a range of gorgeous gifts and art pieces from local makers. I feel proud that my products are sold alongside the other amazing items in her shop. If you're in Whitley Bay you should check it out.

🦚The year ended in style with taking part in the @fenwickofficial Christmas Craft Fair. If you live in the Newcastle Upon Tyne area then visiting the Fenwick Christmas window is a non-negotiable part of the Christmas build up so to be head hunted for their event was quite the compliment and rounded the year of very nicely.
