Hang Your Art without the stress

Nobody wants to fill their walls with holes trying to get their frames hung in the right place - to be honest the thought of it puts a lot of people off bothering at all. Not any more!

There are a few different ways to hang your art but you need to pick the best one for you - your walls and your patience levels.

Option 1. Using Command Strips

If you need pictures hung quickly or maybe you rent and are not allowed to put nails in the wall. If so, this method is for you!

Reverse oil artworks with command strips attached to them

These things are an incredible invention and were amazing when we rented. They are so easy to use but make sure that you look carefully at the weight guide. The last thing you want is your artwork falling off the wall. For heavier items, I would avoid the velcro versions.

One of the best things about them is that you can line pieces up without all the measuring.

How to use them:

🦚 For best results, I recommend putting a strip in each of the two corners. This way the weight is spread and the frame will be more evenly supported on the wall.

🦚 These strips are best used where you have a wide frame at the back. This gives more of a surface for the strip to stick to.

🦚Avoid touching the sticky surface or peeling off and re-sticking as this will damage the tack and make the strip less effective.

🦚 Always use a spirit level

Using Hooks with Strung Frames

Before You Start!

Check whether your frame either has a string or hook on the back. Check if there are pipes in the wall in both cases because nobody wants to be flooding their house!

🦚 Step 1: Measure the drop of the string with a metal tape measure.

🦚 Step 2: Holding the frame where you want it, mark the top with a pencil or some tape in the middle then measure down.

🦚 Step 3: Using a sturdy metal hook and nail set, hold the hook on the lower mark and tap in the nail with a hammer (careful of fingers).

🦚 Step 3: Slide the strung back onto the hook and use your spirit level to make it straight.

🦚 Step 3: Hold the nail on the lower mark and tap carefully with a hammer (carefully holding  steady with finger and thumb until it is part way in).

🦚 Step 3: Slide the hook over the protruding nail.

🦚 Use your spirit level to make it straight.
