Linocut Prints Created From Life's Most Memorable Moments

Linocut Art Made in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Inspiration strikes in all kinds of places but it’s always an emotional response to something - a colour, a day spent with special people, a once in a lifetime event or journey.

The colours that I use are the evidence of that emotional response. They set the mood and communicate how I felt when inspiration hit me.

Linocut is a printmaking process where a Lino block (similar to the flooring but made especially for artists to use) is carved and then inked up before lying paper on top and pressing down. Whatever is left in relief impresses an inked image on the paper. I usually create in layers where new colours are printed on top of each other. This creates more exciting textures and colour combinations.

‘We were looking for a piece of art with a nautical theme when we came across Heather’s work.

We were drawn in by her use of bold colours and the unique patterns created by her carving.

Heather is friendly, honest and approachable which all created a great service. Buying from her felt easy and the whole process was transparent.

We’re so happy to have this piece in the hallway - our original ‘Happy Place’ print makes it welcoming.
