How to Commission a Piece of Bespoke Art
How to Commission a Piece of Bespoke Art
If you like my style but want something bespoke and totally unique then why not consider commissioning a piece. If you already know you want to book a call then head here.
What is a Commission?
A commission, in the art world, is where you employ an artist whose work you love to create you a piece of uniques artwork to your own specifications. It’s an exciting process and results in something totally bespoke that you’ll love for years to come.
How Do You Know Which Artist to Choose?
I would always say to go with your gut. Who’s artwork do you love? If its someone that you keep coming back to and artwork that you always feel good around then that’s the one!
What Does it Involve?
Once you’ve decided to explore commissioning a piece then you book in for a free consultation, either face to face or via video call. During this meeting you can tell me what you’re looking for and we can work through a few ideas. After that, it’s up to you whether you go ahead or not.
When you decide to go ahead with the commission, I put together a price based on the size and complexity of the piece (there are some guide prices below to give you a rough idea). You then pay a 50% deposit to enable me to get started with the required materials.
You can choose whether to have updates throughout the process or wait for the big reveal (I’d want the updates because I just cannot help myself).
On completion, you pay the remaining 50% and I deliver your stunning bespoke piece of art.
So will you be commissioning a piece just for you? What would you ask for?
